Hi Frugal friends! Today we are making a quick and easy Taco Seasoning. I mean seriously, it’s so easy and frugal to make your own taco seasoning instead of buying the packets that you’ll never buy a packet again.

Taco seasoning can be made from spices you already have

Tacos are one of the easiest dinners to whip up after a hard day at work. You know the kind I’m talking about. The one’s whereby the time you make it home you are so done. But we all know that the days not over because there’s a family to feed. On days like that I like to make an easy dinner, and tacos are a super quick and easy dinner to get on the table. And, who doesn’t love tacos?

Parmesan cheese tops fit mason jars

When I make this recipe, I always put it in a pint mason jar. Fun fact, the top off of a grated Parmesan cheese container will fit on a mason jar. I save those parm container tops all the time and use them on my spice mixes. It’s perfect with a shaker side and side you can spoon out of.

I always lay a paper towel down, because I’m messy. Then add the spices to a pint mason jar on at a time. It looks like sand art doesn’t it? Just shake your jar full of spices to mix them up. That’s it.

I made a label for my Taco Seasoning with my Brother P-Touch label maker. I got it on Amazon and I love it. I keep just finding more uses for it.

Make a label for your Taco Seasoning

For those of you who want a nice organized spice drawer or cabinet, I linked some awesome finds from Amazon below. One day I want to give my spice cabinet a makeover and use some of these pretty jars. For now though, I’ll just keep on using my mason jars.

Now you’re all set to have months’ worth of Tacos. My favorite way to eat tacos is actually what we call a taco salad. This uses the term “salad” loosely, but it does have lettuce in it. 🙂 I layer Doritos, taco meat, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa and cheddar cheese. Yum!
